Irene Veronica Clark

April 21, 1927 ~ March 19, 2015 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Irene Veronica (Zehren) Clark, 87, Combined Locks, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on March 19, 2015.  She was born April 21, 1927, in the Town of Brazeau, Oconto County, daughter of John P. Zehren and Helen A (Stark) Zehren.  Irene graduated from Appleton High School in 1945 and was united in marriage to Theodore Clark Jr on September 2, 1950.  She worked for many years as a secretary with U.S. Oil Company and Appleton Supply Company.  Irene enjoyed making candy, spinning, knitting and getting together with friends and family.

 

She is survived by six children:  Christopher (Karie) Clark, Champaign IL; Mary Jo (Gene) Wojcik, New Franken, WI; Patrick (Marianne) Clark, Kaukauna, WI; Timothy (Tammy) Clark, Sturgeon Bay, WI; Ann Mercedes (Ned) Austin, Kaukauna, WI; Gregg (Brenda) Clark, St Louis, MO. 

Surviving grandchildren are Rebekah (Ryan) King, Gene Jr. (Amber) Wocjik, Jonathan (Dana) Austin, Katherine (Ethan) Karol, Timothy Clark, Amy (Brett) Roberts, Elizabeth (Jake) Filipiak, Tyler (Bryony) Austin, Eleanor Bosman-Clark, Daniel (Anna) Wojcik, Rachel Wojcik, Meghan Clark, William Clark, eight great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Judy Zehren, Cincinnati, OH.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband Theodore on April 15, 2004, two children David and Thomas, her granddaughter Angela Marie Clark, her parents, her sisters, Helen Corso and Alice Porior, and her brother 1st Lieutenant John G. Zehren, U.S. Army Air Corps.

 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday March 23, 2015, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will be in St. Joe’s Cemetery, Appleton. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.  

 

The family is especially grateful for the comfort and kindness provided by the caregivers from Appleton Medical Center and Saint Paul’s Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to Appleton Medical Center Martha Siekman Cancer Treatment Center and Heifer International for the purchase of sheep to help impoverished families around the world.
