Ruth M. Rosin, 97, Little Chute, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the St. Paul Home, with her family at her side.  She was born on June 30, 1917, in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Harry and Christine (Vanden Heuvel) Verhagen.  She married Ervin (Fritz) Rosin on October 26, 1945, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna.  She is survived by her children Gene (Robin) Rosin, Kaukauna; Bernadette Neider, Appleton; Bonnie (Dick) Fassbender, Hollandtown; Marcelene Rosin, Seymour; Ann (Lee) Sprangers, Freedom.  She is also survived by a brother Paul (Theresa) Verhagen, Kaukauna; a sister Mary Jean Van Lanen, Kaukauna; a son-in-law, James Wegand, Little Chute.  She is further survived by sister-in-laws Irene Scheibe, Appleton; Toni Rosin, California; Betty Rosin, Wrightstown; 22 grandchildren and 47.5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; daughters Barbara Jean Wegand and Renae Rosin and son-in-law John Neider; brothers Joseph (infant), Richard (Blanch), Earl, and Joe Verhagen; a sister, Leone (Fritz) Vande Hey; Mark (Irene Verhagen), brother- and sisters-in-law Gene Van Lanen, Robert, Harold (Cordell); Oscar, Lester and Melvin (Geraldine) Rosin; Inez (Harvey) Zittlow; and Ed, Irma (Walter) Scheibe.  Mother- and father-in-law Albert and Elise Rosin.

As a teenager, Ruth’s Aunt Dora passed away, and she moved in with the Peter Vanden Heuvel family as his housekeeper for many years, helping raise and look after the nine children while he operated his Mobil service station in Little Chute.   She often commented that Clarence, Paul, Gene, Ken, Delores, Donna, Barbara Jerome and Lloyd were her extended family.

Mom liked many things. She was noted for her baking skills or there was always a fresh pot of coffee on with a slice of pie or fresh baked cake. She loved playing cards, listening to country music, sewing and spending time with Fritz and family at their cottage on Pickerel Lake. Her infectious smile and laugh will always be remembered.  She blessed our family in many ways.  Mom always cherished the old neighborhood where she made close friends while raising her family.

Christmas was her favorite time of the year.  Celebrating with her children and grandchildren brought so many smiles.  She always had a positive outlook on life.  She had a deep Christian faith, and she prayed the rosary daily with Mother Angelica.
