It is with deep sorrow that that we announce the passing of our father, William Merkley, on September 16, 2025. He departed from this world under the vigilant eyes of those who cared for him at his last residence at McCormick home in Green Bay, WI.
Born on July 16, 1943 in San Antonio Texas, Bill was the beloved son of Ronald and Margaret Merkley and a remarkable and caring individual who lead his life loving and dedicated to his family, friends and God. Proudful his roots in Texas, Bill would often be found wearing a cowboy hat and sometimes going by the carefree nickname of “Wild Bill”.
Some of his favorite things in life were his daughters and their families, attending celebrations, grandkids sporting events and cooking everyone’s favorite meals for them. His time spent at his family cabin in Mountain were deeply fond memories along with his love of golf and hunting that has been passed along to his grandchildren.
Bill touched many people’s lives and often left lasting impressions. He was deeply committed to his faith and family. He was always in a good mood, provided love and support whenever needed, would be up for any activity whether it was a last-minute tee time or dinner reservation or just talking about Badger and Packer games.
It brings peace to his surviving family members (daughters Michelle Zink and Melissa Berry, sons-in-law Jon Zink and Ryan Berry, and grandchildren Jared and Jenna Zink and Hunter and Brayden Berry) that he is perpetuity with his Lord and loved ones in his eternal life.
His legacy, love and laughter will be forever etched into our hearts.
