I boarded the bus to eternity on April 12, 2026. Where and the reason why doesn’t really matter.
I was born to John N. and Bernice (Krueger) Garvey in January of 1945 and graduated from St. Nicholas Grade School, Freedom High School, class of 1963, and from FVTC in 1965 with an associate degree.
In August of 1965, Pauline Van Den Bosch and I were united in marriage at St. Nicholas. Pauline gave me three wonderful sons: Paul, Craig, and Eric.
I enjoyed my time at Margaret Lake, serving on the Freedom Fire Department, driving bus, and restoring old Chevy trucks.
I am survived by my sweet wife, Pauline, who took great care of me while I recovered from all of my joint surgeries and all of my other down times; my sons: Paul (Karen) Garvey of Freedom and Eric (Vicki) Garvey of Grafton; my four wonderful grandchildren: Maddy (O’Quinn Young and two precious great grandchildren, Eli and Mae), Liam, Abby and Colin; sisters: M. Karen Hietpas and Joan (Mike) Bohlmann; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mary Jane (Vic) Vande Loo, John (Judy) Van Den Bosch, Hank (Mary) Van Den Bosch, Dennis Roskom, Bob (Dort) Van Den Bosch, Dick (Linda) Van Den Bosch, Shirley (Keith) Kerznar and Larry Helein; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
I was preceded in death by my parents; my son, Craig; father and mother-in-law, Peter and Matilda Van Den Bosch; brothers and sisters-in-law: Leo Hietpas, Margaret (Jim) Schell, Wilma (Rich) Schumacher, Jean Helein, Rosanne Roskom, Vy Van Den Bosch and Donald Van Den Bosch; and a special uncle, Ed Garvey.
Dear Pauline, Paul, Karen, Maddy, Liam, Eric, Vicki, Abby and Colin – I had a wonderful life!
