Virginia Mae Kamke, age 84, passed away peacefully from the loving arms of her beloved family at her side into the waiting arms of Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at St. Paul Home – Kaukauna.
Virginia (Ginny) was born in De Pere, WI on January 2, 1941 to the late Joseph and Marie (Johnson) Miller. Ginny married the love of her life, Alvin Kamke on June 12, 1965 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family this year.
Ginny took pride in being able to stay at home watching her daughter grow up and then later babysitting her cherished grandchildren and spoiling them. She also enjoyed going out to eat at supper clubs and other restaurants, going to church picnics/parades and listening to polkas.
Ginny truly valued being around family and had a very kind heart. When children were present, Ginny could be found handing out candy to them with a big smile. She also enjoyed eating sweets including pie, candy and ice cream. Her favorite color was blue and when buying clothing for herself or an item for the house, you could expect it to be in blue!
Later on in years, Ginny & Al enjoyed trips to the casino, eating out especially at Culvers and Pizza Hut, feeding their great grandpup, Argo, lots of treats and spending time with family celebrating many birthdays, anniversaries and holidays.
Ginny is survived by her daughter, Susan (Bryan) Uitenbroek; grandchildren: Amber and Kyle Uitenbroek; great grandpup, Argo; sister: Shirley Baeten; sister-in-law: Mary Jane Miller; brothers/sister in-law: Darwin (Alice) Kamke, Allen Kamke; and numerous other family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Alvin; siblings: Excelda (Donald) Pieschek and Joseph Miller and brothers/sisters-in-law: Edward Baeten, Raymond (Mardelle) Kamke and Geraldine (Alden) Moeller.
Ginny met every challenge in life with strength, courage and optimism. She has touched so many lives and will be greatly missed by all! Virginia will forever live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.
The family is very grateful and wishes to thank the staff at Oneida Community Health Center-Hobart and St. Paul Elder Services & Hospice-Kaukauna.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna with Fr. Luke Ferris officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 am until the time of mass. Virginia will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery.
