Virginia M. Gossen

Virginia Marie Gossen, age 85, went home to the arms of her Savior on October 9, 2023 surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Kaukauna on March 23, 1938 to the late Henry and Harriet (Van Dalen) Van Gompel.  Virginia “Ginny” married Robert R. Gossen on May 4, 1957 at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna.  Virginia experienced 66 years of sunrises and sunsets with her beloved husband and the love of her life.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her children: Bob (Lori) Gossen, Barb (Tim) Taggart, Bill (Heidi) Gossen, Brian Gossen, Bonnie Brochtrup, Brenda (Brian) Niebauer, Bridget Borski (fiancé Ken Nushart); grandchildren: Bo Gossen, Brianna Gossen, Brittanny (Ryan) Houfek, Michael Berben (special friend Lily Ertl), Dylan Berben (fiancé Katie Galoff), Paige (Terrell) Pollard, Dane Gossen, Erin (Stephen) Book, Brad (Traci) Gossen, Dustin (Sara) Brochtrup, Cody (Betty) Brochtrup, Andrea (Luke) Bushman, Olivia Fischer (special friend Jared Geiser), Owen Fischer (special friend Molly Gloudemans), Hunter Borski, Charlize Borski; great grandchildren: Oakli and Reed Gossen, Kahra and Gracie Bushman, August Pollard.

She is further survived by brothers: Roger (Helen) Van Gompel, Daniel (Elaine) Van Gompel; sister, Diane (Tom) Wilkerson; sister-in-law, Elaine Van Gompel, sisters-in-law: Dee Spiegel, Joan Collins, Bev (Tom) Eisch, Lori Gossen; and brother- in- law, Marvin (Barb) Gossen.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Harriet Van Gompel; her father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Gladys Gossen; daughter -in-law, Corry Gossen; brother, Thomas Van Gompel; brothers-in-law: Harlin Spiegel, Chuck Collins and Donald Gossen Sr.

First and foremost, “Ginny” was devoted to her Lord Jesus Christ.  She instilled those core Christian values in her children, which she always said were the joy of her life and the best thing that ever happened to her.

A funeral service for Virginia will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, WI.
