Virgina Boye Obituary

Village of Harrison - Virginia Alice Boye, the finest mother, hardest working and most genuinely decent woman who ever walked the face of the earth, passed away quietly on June 13, 2021.

A child of the depression, she was born 12/6/1926 in Buffalo, NY, and was "on her own" from age 16 forward, having worked full time for General Cable and Trico straight through wartime production. She married Frederick C. Boye, also from Buffalo, a WW2 Marine Corps veteran (pharmacist mate) who became Dr. Frederick C. Boye; he took his many formal degrees from the University of Buffalo (BA, MA, PhD; highest honors) and went on to, after teaching at UB, Cornell, Cornell Aero Labs and Oswego whilst raising 3 children, become a world-renowned silico-organic, clinical chemist and medical researcher with distinguished professional abstracts on file all over the world. Needless to say, her 'path' necessarily followed his, innumerable relocations included. She endured it all with poise and complete transitional aplomb.

All of her life, Virginia worked full time inside the home, and out at various positions ranging from department lead(s) in clothing retail establishments to the Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce in Kaukauna, to department store retail sales (Kohl's, Appleton, South) - her last formal gig.

Her interests were entirely varied and ranged from the simple, such as collecting Department 56 lighted pieces and dog showing/breeding to the esoteric - classical music, for which she held a deep, spiritual passion. She was gifted with perfect pitch and studied piano. She was also a highly skilled potter, gardener and interior designer.

This magnificent woman is survived by her son Christopher, a consultant Business Analyst and Data Administrator, 6 fabulous grandchildren who reside in Jericho, Israel and many wonderful great grandchildren all of whom she adored endlessly.
