Virgil Ann “Virgie” Meulemans, 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Virgie was born on December 22, 1935 to Louis and Augusta (Schmitz) Killian in Kaukauna. On September 27, 1956 she was united in marriage to Vernon Meulemans. Virgie liked cooking and baking and casino runs. She worked at the Community Blood Center and Piggly Wiggly for many years and volunteered at St Vincent DePaul. Most of all she loved her family and cherished the time they spent together.
Virgie is survived by her children; Peter (Julie) Meulemans, John (Pat) Meulemans, Joan (Dan) Hietpas, Joe (Sandy) Meulemans, Ann Meulemans, Mary (Jeff) Girard, and Jim (Deb) Meulemans, 17 grandchildren, 27 great grand children and 2 great great grandchildren, a brother Dan (Judy) Killian and sisters-in-law; Joanne Jenkins, Dawn Killian and Barb Killian, a special friend, Joanie Carman from Ballard Glenn, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon, a son Paul Meulemans, her siblings: Esther, Mildred (Joe), Frank (Elaine), Lorraine (Clayton), Carol (Dick), Leo, Joan (Peter), Tom, and Chuck; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bernice and Anton Meulemans and her in-laws; Minerva (Ves) Verhagen and Laverne (Don) Boettcher and a grandson, Craig Meulemans.
The Funeral Mass for Virgie will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St Mary Catholic Church, 119 W. 7th St., Kaukauna. A time of visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at church. For online condolences please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
