Vernon “Peacha” Lamers, 90, passed away on April 13, 2026. Peacha was born on December 10, 1935 to Edward and Anna (Ebben) Lamers in Little Chute. He was born and raised in Little Chute and graduated from St. John Nepomucene Catholic High School and was an altar boy. While in High School, he played basketball. On August 23, 1956 he was united in marriage to Mary Jo Bolwerk at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Peacha worked as a pipefitter at Appleton Papers Mill, Combined Locks until his retirement. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Combined Locks Fire Department for 35 years. Peacha was a cofounder of the Combined Locks Advancement Association and the Bulldog Football Program. During his lifetime, he continued to play sports, enjoying golf, bowling and softball over the years. Most of all, he was everyone’s friend and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Peacha is survived by his wife Mary Jo, children; Gail Lamers, Doug (Lynne) Lamers, Glenn Lamers, and Dean (Vicki) Lamers, grandchildren; Drew (Jordan) Lamers, Spencer Lamers, Sydney Lamers, Meg Lamers, Olivia Lamers and Liz Lamers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Joe Bolwerk, Julie Van Hout, Roger (Laurie) Bolwerk, Nancy Bolwerk and Marian Lamers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Peacha was preceded in death by his parents; 3 infant children; Cynthia, Edward and Cindy, a daughter-in-law Julie Lamers, siblings; Rita (Ralph) Gorchals, Don (Margaret) Lamers, Marv Lamers, Sylvan (Shirley) Lamers, Rodney Lamers and -in-laws; Willard (Virginia) Bolwerk, Ted (Mary) Bolwerk, Jerry (Carmen) Bolwerk, Jim (Leah) Bolwerk, Clair Bolwerk, Bill VanHout, and Fran Bolwerk.
The funeral Mass for Peacha will be held on Monday April 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace St., Combined Locks. A time of visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. For online condolences please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
