Thomas Anthony Jochmann was born on August 17, 1953, the sixth of seven children born to Ed and Rosella (Hoelzel) Jochmann. He was baptized on August 30, 1953, by Rev. Anthony Baier, with Joseph and Mary Van Groll as his Godparents.

Tom attended Plamann School in Appleton. He was a worker for New Hope Center in Chilton for 27 years. He rode a bus five days a week from his home to Chilton and back. These drivers were very thoughtful of and for him.

Tom enjoyed cutting lawn at his home either on his Yardman or his new John Deere. The key to the lawnmower, day or night, was always right in his pocket, along with his wallet. He also enjoyed puzzles, toy diggers and other equipment, CD players and taking tape measurers apart and putting them back together, often losing one of the small screws in the process. The family brought lots of tape measurers through the years.

Our dad had a workshop in his special shed. Tom could come home from New Hope and walk through the shed and tell you everything Dad had touched while he was gone. He had a good eye for that sort of thing. Once he had a job down pat, he wasn’t afraid to say “Hey.” So, you knew you were doing it wrong. Tom most often had a nice sense of humor and was quite a tease.

Tom died early Saturday morning, May 30, 2026, while under the care of his favorite caretaker, Constance Melvin from Limitless Possibilities, LLC, after a short illness. He has been under her care for 5.5 years. The family would like to thank all the Limitless Possibilities LLC staff who have been so good to him since they took over his care in 2019. He was able to die in his parents’ second home which was the wish of the family and is now under the direction of Limitless Possibilities LLC. Tom was able to get along well with his fellow clients: Steve, Leroy and Brian.

Tom was a man of few words, but from his short sentences, you knew what he wanted. One of his most frequently asked questions was “What’s Bill doing?” Bill is a neighbor that had lots of contact with Dad through the years and has been a good friend to the family.

Tom is survived by his siblings: Sr. Rose Jochmann, Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross, Green Bay; Margaret Killa, Darboy; Francis Jochmann, Sheboygan; Theresa (Dennis) Brown, Darboy; and a niece, Sara Brown.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Rosella Jochmann; brothers: Edward and Paul Jochmann; and a brother-in-law, John Killa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Holy Spirit Parish-Holy Angels Church, W2796 Cty Hwy KK, Darboy. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
