Theresa M. Wildenberg

Theresa M. Wildenberg, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. She was born on May 26, 1941, daughter to John and Gertrude (Kilishek) Bloch.

Theresa was a graduate of Kaukauna High School (Class of 59) and earned her nursing degree from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac (Class of 62). On February 1, 1964, Theresa married Henry Wildenberg at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna. 

She spent many years caring for patients at Kaukauna Community Hospital where she not only forged connections with those she cared for, but with her coworkers and built many lifelong friendships. After raising three children and retiring from nursing, Theresa’s love for working with young people led her to volunteer positions at Holy Cross over the years including the school's hot lunch program and serving as a catechist for their religious education program. In her later years, Theresa renewed her love for nature, birds, and all God's creatures and enjoyed the solace she found outdoors. 

Theresa is survived by her husband of 61 years, Henry Wildenberg; children: Keith (Francesco Barra) Wildenberg and Shawn Schultz; grandchildren: Gage Schultz and Erika Schultz; great grandchildren: Luna Schultz and Benjamin Schultz; siblings: Paul (Darlene) Bloch and Mary (Dan) Verstegen; and sister-in-law, Catherine Van Gompel.

She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Gertrude Bloch; daughter, Becky Wildenberg; sisters: Agnes (Wes) Romenesko and Beth Grosnick; sister-in-law, Jan Wildenberg; and brothers-in-law: Pat (Mary) Wildenberg and Jim Van Gompel.

A Funeral Mass for Theresa will be held on September 23 at 3:00 PM at Holy Cross Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna. Visitation will begin at the church starting at 2:00 PM and will continue until the time of the Mass. Theresa will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery in Kaukauna.
