Theresa M. Verbeten

Theresa M. Verbeten (Beattie), age 64, was called to heaven September 3, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Theresa was born on September 14, 1960 to the late Ron and Mary Ann Beattie in Little Chute. She graduated from Little Chute High School in 1978 and remained a resident of the village for the entirety of her life. She married John Verbeten on October 12, 1979. Together they raised 3 boys in their loving home. Jason (Jen) Verbeten, Jake (Betsy) Verbeten and Jeremy “Frump” (Justine) Verbeten. In addition Theresa was a grandmother to 6 granddaughters: Peyton, Paisley, Addi, Lexi, Louise and Hanley.

Most people would remember Theresa through her employment at Larry’s Piggly Wiggly or her time as a teller at the Bank of Little Chute. Her favorite bank patrons were those who would bring their pups through the bank drive through. She enjoyed watching her granddaughters compete in sports and dance. She liked traveling with family and friends. She loved hosting family in her home for the holidays which was always accompanied by a lavish spread including her signature deviled eggs and cheesy potatoes. You could often find John and Theresa at their cottage in Athelstane where they spent many weekends with their family dogs. Their best times were when Theresa could catch a glimpse of a loon on the lake.

Survivors include her husband, children and grandchildren; siblings: Dawn (Joe) VanZeeland, Brian Beattie (Chrissy Wanty) and Brad Beattie (Liz Revis); in-laws: Joe Verbeten and Vicky (Phil) Reinl; nieces and nephews: Jessica (Jamie) Verstegen, Eric (Melissa) Beattie, Tessa (Thomas) Moore, Arianna (Darcy) Beattie, Ethan (Aleah) Beattie, Evan (Lindsey) Beattie, Emery (Olivia) Beattie, Anissa (Jake) McChesney, Luke (Brittany) VanZeeland, Mathew (Olivia) VanZeeland, Conner (Nicole) VanZeeland, Brittnie (Ryan) Menges, McKenzie (Mitch) Kappelman, Chris (Megan) Verbeten, Kayla (Jeff) Hooper, Conner Verbeten, Kristie (Troy) Chaltry and Brooke (Al) Bonnell. Theresa also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews, as well as aunts and uncles including Gerald (Kathy) Beattie, Joan LaFond, Noreen Mrotek, Nathalie Beattie, Ade Evers and Celeste Evers. 

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents, John & Minnie Evers; paternal grandparents, Vernon & Mary Beattie; brother, Randy Beattie; niece, Kara Beattie; in-laws, Robert and Dorris Verbeten. She was further preceded in death by several maternal and paternal aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 9, 2025 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek St, Little Chute. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with a traditional catholic service to follow. The service will be officiated by Fr. Ron Belitz.
