Theresa M. Hoefler, age 77, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on June 1, 2025. She was born on June 15, 1947, one of 17 children of the late Adam and Evelyn (Kobeck) Stanchik. She was married to Edwin Hoefler for 38 years until his passing, and together they raised their four children in Little Chute.
Theresa was an extremely talented, old-fashion cook. She had the best recipes and spoiled everyone with her famous soups and pies. She worked at several local super clubs and diners, but she loved her time at St. Fidelis Friary. She cooked for the priests for over 20 years and built many lasting friendships. Theresa also loved her garden and her yard full of flowers. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed family games of cribbage.
Theresa is survived by her children: Lisa Bongean, Edwin Jr. Hoefler, Bradley (Tina) Hoefler and Michael Hoefler; grandchildren: Luke Neubauer, Jacob Neubauer, April (Devin) Barnes, Kaitlyn (Colton) Holzschuh, Brandon Hoefler, Tyler (Megan) Hoefler and Addison Hoefler; great grandchildren: Jace, Owen, Lachlan, Gunner, Emery, Norah and Jackson; siblings: Eleanor, Barbara, Jeanie, Linda, Irene, Ernie and Ronnie.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie; step-son, Rick Hoefler; grandsons: Lance Van Groll and Joshua Hoefler; and siblings: Chet, Stanley, Buddy, Donnie, Ray, Ann, Gladys and Frannie. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute.
