Terry J. Vanden Heuvel

Terry J. Vanden Heuvel, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2021 at age 61 with his three daughters by his side.

Terry was born to Jerry and Sharon Vanden Heuvel.   He was a prominent bowler since age 17 and became a well-respected junior league coach for over 35 years.  He owned and operated Village Lanes Pro Shop, then relocated to his own basement and recently at Electric City Lanes in Kaukauna.  His passion was bowling and being involved with the Special Olympics.  He was elected into the Fox Cities Bowlers Hall of Fame August 4, 2003.  He loved golfing, tennis, Nascar, music and his family’s weekly Packer parties.  He cherished any time he spent with his family, friends, and especially his grandkids. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Joan; three daughters: Angela her children Trent (Jade Dismuke), Aaliyah, and Quincy; Jeri (Clint) Kuehne her step-children, Brianna and Ben; Lisa (Bryce Nixon) her daughters, Raelynn and Brynn; brothers: Jeff (Renee), Mike (Marlene), and Dennis (Sandy) Vanden Heuvel; in-laws: Dan (Tweet) Hurst, Gary Hurst, Dick (Joyce) Hurst, Pam (Shorty) Watkins, Ken Hurst Jr., Jean (Steve) Reffke, Greg (Pam) Hurst, Jay Hurst, De (Todd) Bolwerk, many nieces and nephews; Godchildren: Mark Hurst, Kristin Ginthum and Tanner Vanden Heuvel.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his in-laws, Ken Sr. and Tiny Hurst and sisters-in-law: Betz, Cella and Cindee Hurst.

A celebration of life visitation will be at held at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home Freedom Location, N3972 Columbia Ave., Freedom, on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. If you plan on attending, please wear your favorite sports attire as Terry would want you to be comfortable.
