Suzanne McKee, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Suzanne was born on August 9, 1932 to James and Arleen (Parmentier) Early in Green Bay. She was united in marriage to Patrick McKee, who preceded her in death in 1980. Suzanne enjoyed spending time at the cottage with her family and friends. Having grown up on the Bay, she had a great appreciation for the water and the outdoors, whether swimming, or boating, or just sitting with a book in her floating chair. She loved eating ice cream, always sharing with us how special it was getting an ice cream cone as a little girl at Dehn’s near her childhood home. She and her older sister Pat were known to say, “If there isn’t any ice cream in Heaven, I don’t want to go.” Suzanne loved her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She was an active member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, attending Mass daily and volunteering for various ministries. She had a special devotion to the Holy Mother and prayed the rosary regularly.
Suzanne is survived by her children: Kevin (Celia) McKee and Kathy McKee; grandchildren: Nate, Terese, Patrick, Marta and Dominic; siblings: Mary Ellen Holz and Julie (Patrick) Boyden; sister-in-law Nadine Urban; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Patrick, sister Patricia Lemke, brothers-in-law: Warren “Lem” Lemke, Ward Holz, and Eldred Urban; sister-in-law Karen McKee, and her mother and father-in-law Leo and Dorothy McKee.
The funeral liturgy for Suzanne will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton with lunch served after the service. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Verkuilen Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal St., Little Chute with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday morning at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment will be in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery in Green Bay.
