Steve Driessen, age 71, was called home on June 27, 2021 with his “girls”, wife Barb and daughters Rose and Jill, by his side, at OSF Richard Owen’s Hospice in Peoria, IL.
Steve was born on January 4, 1950, son of James and Ramona (“Mona” Mangold) Driessen in Appleton, WI. He grew up in Little Chute, WI, attending St. John grade and high school. Steve married Barbara (Baumann) Driessen on September 21, 2002. Their marriage was later blessed at St. Thomas More, Appleton, WI on July 16, 2006.
Steve graduated from UWO with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972. He was also a certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida.
What was most important to Steve were his wife, children and grandchildren. He dedicated his life working hard and succeeding in making their quality of life better.
His passions were the Packers and golf. His dream was world peace. His greatest joy, spending time with his grandkids, Sarah, Aidan and Anna.
He was a member of St. Anthony Parish in Bartonville, IL.
Steve is survived by his wife Barbara (Baumann) Driessen, daughters Rose (Steve) Shedlock and Jill (Tim) Bell, step-daughter April (Chris) Foster; grandchildren Sarah Shedlock, Aidan and Anna Bell, and Liam and Aidan Foster; siblings Barbara Driessen, Diane (Ron) Demerath, David Driessen and Donna Moede; and in laws Beckie (Dick) Hawker, Bill Aykens, Anne (Ben) Kolasinski, Pat (Bill) Wildenberg and Dan (Heidi) Baumann. He is further survived by his Uncle Sylvester (Bud) and Aunt Margaret Ann Vanevenhoven, and Uncle-in-law Carl Van Vreede; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents James and Ramona Driessen, parents-in-law Robert and Jane Baumann, sister-in-law Jean Aykens, brother-in-law Bob Baumann, nephews-in-law David Aykens and Mark Kolasinski.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.
