Stephen Romenesko Obituary

Stephen R. Romenesko, 73, passed away after a 10 year courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).  Steve was born on January 28, 1951 to Robert and Eunice (Smith) Romenesko in Kaukauna.  On May 19, 1973, he married the love of his life, Kathy Lamers.

Steve took pride in being a farmer the majority of his life. The fields were his happy place and Sundays were often spent driving around looking at fields.  Steve was a family man and loved nothing more than watching and playing with his grandkids.  Casino trips and playing cards were his favorite, as he loved having everyone gathered together.  Steve enjoyed spending time up north and was always traveling whenever possible. Steve, Kathy and his family had many wonderful trips across the country and the world. Upon his retirement from dairy farming, Florida was his escape from winter and he would never miss a sunset. Steve had the kindest heart and made friendships with everyone he met.

Steve is survived by his wife Kathy, daughters; Leann (Craig) Vosters, Jeneen (Justin) Mackey, and Andrea Romenesko, grandchildren; Maya, Aliana and Samantha Vosters, Lyla and Scarlett Mackey, and Cameron Turner, siblings; Barb Reuter, Jean Pendleton, Tom (Chris) Romenesko, Beth (Brian) Stewart and Julie Miller, in laws; Bob (Joyce) Lamers, Lois (Gene) Ver Voort, Cindy (Gary) Anderson, Mark (Lynn) Lamers and Paul (Patty)Lamers; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Steve was preceded in death by his parents, parents in law, and his son Luke Romenesko.

The funeral mass for Steve will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church,  W2037 County Rd S, Freedom.  A time of visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Verkuilen Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, N3972 N Columbia Ave., Freedom, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning at St. Nicholas Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.  In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in Steve’s name for the PSP Foundation.
