Roger A. Hansen passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 16, 2026. Roger was born on September 16, 1942 to Ralph and Hilda Hansen in Oshkosh, WI. On October 5, 1963 he was united in marriage to Lois Techlin.

Roger was a cattle jockey through and through. It wasn't simply what he did—it was who he was. He loved the work, the people, the lifestyle, and the sense of purpose it gave him.

He took immense pride in his family. Nothing pleased him more than hearing stories of what his grandchildren were up to, and he carried that pride with him everywhere he went.

Roger is survived by his wife, Lois; his sons: Brian Hansen (former daughter-in-law Judy Hansen), and Bruce (Julie) Hansen; grandchildren: Amanda (Jason) Meyers (and their son), Cody Hansen, Brooke (Josh) Philbrick (and their children), Blake (Karissa) Hansen, Bryce (Justice Meyer) Hansen; his brother, David Hansen; and sisters: Donna Bolt and Barbara Selle.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Hilda Hansen; his father and mother-in-law, Orville and Ethel Techlin; brother, Eugene Hansen; sisters: Carol Kiefer and Sharon Haase; and great grandson Vance Philbrick.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, N2740 N. French Road, Freedom. Visitation will be at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
