Robert “Bob” Keller, 72, passed away from Congestive Heart Failure and COPD on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at his residence in Appleton in the comfort and support of his siblings and his son, Scott.
Bob was born in Appleton to Charles Edward Keller and Rosemary (VandenBoom) Keller on November 16, 1950. They preceded him in death.
Bob worked at Georgia Pacific Converting in Oshkosh until his retirement. Then, he enjoyed a little stint delivering Meals on Wheels until his health began to fail. Bob loved meeting up with his acquaintances at Black Bear Restaurant where he went twice a day. His frequent visits from his longtime friend, Clayton Verhagen, were a highlight of his day. Bob also enjoyed the beautiful flower arrangements planted in his yard by his next-door neighbors, Sue and Ottis.
Bob will be missed by his son, Scott, and his 6 siblings: Don (life partner, Sabena), Ed “Buck” (Tina), Gary (Vicki), Anne (Tricia), Kathy Lenz, and Jack (Cathy); 14 nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held for Bob at a later date. Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with assisting the family with funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bob’s honor to your favorite charity.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Compassus Hospice for their continued care these past couple of weeks.
