Robert H. Promer

Kaukauna - Robert H. Promer, Jr., age 74, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 29, 2021.

Bob was born on December 7, 1946 to Robert and Ethel (Gussert) Promer in Kaukauna, WI.  After high school Bob began working for the family business, Promer Drywall.  He then continued working for himself until his retirement. If anyone knows Bob, he cannot sit still, therefore, he began a new career working at Double Tree in Appleton.  We can only imagine the conversations had during the shuttle trips back and forth to the airport.

While Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was very involved in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) where he just celebrated his 50 years of sobriety. He was always there when someone was in need of support and guidance.  He valued his friends at AA whom he considered family.

Bob cherished his children and grandchildren and was very proud of all their accomplishments.  He enjoyed taking them out for lunch and ice cream.  Whether with family or friends, Bob was always having fun, telling jokes and making people laugh.

Bob is survived by his two children: Stacy (Steve) Hlinak and Shawn (Amy) Promer; grandchildren: Cody (fiancé Brianna) Van De Hey, Brock Hlinak, Macy and Maya Promer; siblings: Don Promer, Dick (Jean) Promer, Marlene Tennessen (Gene Kostrzak) and Mary Biesterveld; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by infant twin daughters, Ann Mary and Mary Ann; his parents, Robert and Ethel; sister-in-law, Rachel Promer and brother-in-law, Dan Biesterveld.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home KAUKAUNA LOCATION, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, WI 54130. There will be a small service immediately after the visitation. In lieu of flowers, a monetary donation will be made on Bob’s behalf to the Genesis Club by the Promer Family.
