Richard Rendall Obituary

Richard V. Rendall, age 83, passed away on November 15, 2021 from congestive heart failure.  He was born in Waupaca, WI on July 25, 1938, son of the late Norman and Esther (Erickson) Rendall.  Dick moved to Appleton in 1942 and graduated from Appleton High School in 1957.  He played left tackle all four years of high school. On September 16, 1961, Dick was united in marriage to Barbara Evans.  They were married for 48 years until she passed away from cancer in 2009.  Dick was a draftsman his entire career and worked at Appleton Structural Steel (32 years) and Valley Drafting (10 years)  before retiring in 2003 to focus on his favorite role - being a grandpa.

Dick was a huge sports fan and loved “anything with a ball”.  He was an avid Brewers, Packers, and Badgers fan.  He especially enjoyed his granddaughters’ club and high school soccer games and his grandsons’ mens’ softball games were a highlight of the summer.  He absolutely loved being a dad and grandpa.  He always said the best thing that ever happened to him were his grandkids. He loved following his grandkids in all of their activities and never missed a game, play or concert unless it was scheduled for Sunday morning.  Then he was at church.  Church always came first.  He was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton serving as usher and money counter for many years.  Dick loved family gatherings and never missed a birthday party, graduation, holiday, or trip to the lake!

Dick is survived and will be deeply missed by his children and grandchildren: Anne (Randall) Bullock and their children; Nathan, Ian and Emma; Susan (Rick) Sanderfoot and their children; Thomas (Clare), Nicole, and Matthew (special friend Kenna); Christopher (Julie) Rendall and their children; Zachary (fiancee Sara) and Adam.  He is further survived by a sister; Cynthia Bronold, and brother-in-law; David Evans. Dick was preceded in death by wife Barbara, his parents, mother-in-law Irene Evans, sister Beverly Prieto, and brother-in-law Bill Bronold.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Star of Hope Chapel, inside Highland Memorial Park, 3131 N. Richmond Street, Appleton.
