Richard Hlinak

Richard Hlinak, 88, passed away on April 3, 2026 in Appleton, WI.  Formerly of Fond du Lac, WI. He was born on December 8, 1937 in Fond du Lac, WI to Edward and Teresa Hlinak. Rick graduated from St. Mary Springs High School, then went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from Oshkosh State College, now UW Oshkosh.

Rick married Louise (Vrobel) in 1964 in Stevens Point, WI.  Louise preceded him in death in 2024. Rick taught in the Fond du Lac School District until his retirement in 1994. Rick also taught Driver’s Education for the Fond du Lac and Campbellsport School District. After his retirement he worked at Holiday Automotive for many years.

Rick was an enthusiast for both cars and telling jokes. He always had new jokes to share.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Mary.

Rick is survived by his four children: Steve (Stacy) Hlinak of Kaukauna, WI; Vicki (Dean) Conrad of New Berlin, WI; Melissa (Wayne) Groeschel of Fond du Lac; Scott (Jennifer) Hlinak of Fond du Lac; grandchildren: Brock (Gabrielle) Hlinak, Nolan Hlinak, Alexandra Hlinak and Rocco Conrad.
