Richard Evers Obituary

Richard W. Evers, 88, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.  Richard was born on September 14, 1933 to Theodore and Mary (Coopman) Evers in Little Chute.  He attended St. John Grade School and High School in Little Chute.  Richard served in the US Army from 1954 until 1956 in Chicago, and then spent a year in Italy as a veterinary food inspector.  He was united in marriage to Marlene Wittman in 1956 and they were married for 47 years until she passed away in 2004.  He worked for Kimberly Clark at the Kimberly Mill and then spent 32 years at research in Neenah until his retirement in 1995.  Richard enjoyed woodworking, flowers, going to auctions, and the Little Chute Windmill.  Richard was a proud Dutchman and was a lifetime member of the Little Chute Historical Society, where he was vice president for many years.  He was a daily windmill volunteer, greeter and tour guide.  Most of all Richard loved spending time with his family, he went to all the games and events for his children, grandchildren and close friends.

Richard is survived by his children; Troy Evers, Todd (Shelly) Evers, grandchildren; Allison (Zack) French, Carolyn and Matthew Evers, a great grandchild,  Ryker, and another great grandchiild due in March who will be named after him (Rylan Richard).  He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marlene, and sisters; Bernice Pritzl, and Dorothy George and brothers Robert and Ted Evers.

Richard's family is eternally grateful to Ryan and April Waterstreet and their children, Aedan and Payton, for being loving, supportive next door neighbors.  They cared for his heart and his house for the last seven years, allowing Richard to live independently in his Appleton home.
