Richard James Eis

Richard J. Eis, age 79, of Kaukauna passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at his home.  He was born on March 14, 1945 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, son of the late Harold and Evelyn (Petri) Eis.  After graduating Mishicot High School, Dick took a farm business course at UW-Madison.  He married Barbara Haese on August 13, 1966 at Holy Cross Parish in Mishicot.  Their marriage was blessed with four children and 57 years of memories.  As a life-long farmer, Dick enjoyed working with his dairy cattle.  In retirement he enjoyed following all of his grandchildren’s school and sporting events, traveling with friends, working on collector cars, time in the woods, working on his plants and flowers in his yard, jigsaw puzzles, and watching Badger and Packer games.  Above all, Dick cherished making memories with his wife and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children: Leanne (Tim) Van Rossum, Paula (Timothy) Long, Jeffrey (Kristin) Eis, Christopher (Missy) Eis; grandchildren: Nicole Kahler (Zaland Wardak), Evan Kahler (sp. friend Emma), Brandon Kahler, Jessica Van Rossum, Ashley and Brad Bodwin, Devin and Connor Long, Franklin and Jackson Eis, BreAnna and David White, Kailey and Zack Treml; 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way.  He is further survived by his siblings: Marilyn Zahorik, Elaine (Carl) Hallada, Judy (Greg) Rademacher, Geraldine Heran; siblings-in-law: Patricia Eis, Sandra Haese, Margaret (Robert) Walkner, William (Casey) Haese, Gwen Haese, Patricia Theyerl.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Robert (Jean) Eis, Donald Eis; siblings-in-law, Gilbert Zahorik, John Heran, Thomas Haese, Paul Haese, Richard Haese, Dennis Theyerl.

Funeral Mass for Dick will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish – St. Francis Site, 433 County Rd. CE, Kaukauna.  Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the American Heart Association.
