Peter Younger Obituary

Pete Madsen Younger, age 66, of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2025, while up north —a place that perfectly reflected the life he loved so much.

Born on March 6, 1959, in Appleton to Mildred and Frank Younger, Pete grew up with strong roots in his community and graduated from Appleton East High School. He went on to dedicate 28 years of his career as an Assembly/Tester at Miller Electric, where his hard work and quick wit left a lasting impression on those around him.

Pete lived life with a quiet joy and a twinkle of mischief. He loved spending every moment he could Up North, whether 4-wheeling, hunting, or spending endless hours around an all-day fire. He was always up for a trip to Las Vegas, even venturing onto a Caribbean cruise, but his heart was never far from the fishing shack. A simple man at heart, Pete’s favorite moments were often the little ones: a good swiss and mushroom burger with a Coors Light, a PB&J sandwich, a baseball cap on his head, or hand-washing dishes. A devoted Green Bay Packers fan, he rarely missed a game, and enjoyed settling in to watch a good NASCAR race. Pete was famously competitive, whether at the rummy table or in everyday life, a trait that he proudly passed down to his children, who carry that same fire today. Pete also carried deep friendships whether it was at Moles Unlimited, on the trails or grabbing a drink at the bars, where he shared laughs, stories, and good times.

Family was at the center of Pete’s world. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosann Younger. Pete was also blessed with two children, Stefanie (Alex) Fude and Dan Younger, from his first marriage to Connie Darnick, and stepchildren Jesse (Alexis) Metko and Justin Metko; his beloved grandchildren - William, Samuel, Elizabeth, August, and one more grandchild on the way. Pete’s grandchildren will always remember him as the playful grandpa who chased them around the house, took them to the park, and embraced every moment of fun. He truly was a kid at heart. He is further survived by his brothers Bill (Coco) Younger and Paul Younger.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Frank Younger, siblings, Patti Younger and Frank Younger, and his sister-in-law, Sharon Younger.

Those who knew Pete will remember his warmth, his love for the simple joys of life, and the way he made ordinary moments feel memorable. Whether around a campfire, at the card table, or out on the trail, Pete lived fully and left behind a legacy of laughter, love, and togetherness.

A celebration of Pete’s life will be held at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, on Saturday September 13, 2025 from 1:00 p.m until 3:00 p.m., where family and friends will gather to share stories and honor his memory.
