Norman Van Beek, age 88, a loving husband and father passed away on August 9th, 2024 at CountryVilla in Freedom. He was born on August 21st, 1935 to John and Margaret Van Beek. He married Marge Van Groll on September 1st, 1959, celebrating almost 65 years together.
Noman enjoyed spending time with his family camping, playing cards, and growing vegetables for his family in his garden.
He is survived by his wife Marge, his children: Laure Van Beek, Gary (Luann) Van Beek, and Vicky (Bruce) Verhasselt; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Roger (Doris) Van Beek; brothers and sisters-in-law: Rich (Kate) Van Groll, Jerry (Janice) Van Groll, Mary VanGroll, Irene (Clarence) Wagner, Carol Selig, Donny (Beth) Van Groll, and Leroy (special friend Ann) Van Groll.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Van Beek; his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Henry and Dora Van Groll; brothers-in-law: Marvin and Carl Van Groll and Jerry Selig.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, W2037 County Road S, Freedom. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Full Military Honors will be performed by the Freedom VFW Post #7692. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
