Nick P. Mollen, age 81, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026. He was born on January 6, 1945, son of Emery and Zeta (Vandenberg) Mollen in Green Bay. He was raised in Little Chute and graduated from St. John High School in 1963. On June 2, 1965, Nick was united in marriage to Rita Vander Heiden at St. Paul’s Church in Wrightstown.
Nick started to work at the age of 16 at Look’s Hardware, Little Chute. He then worked for the Kimberly Mill, S. C. Shannon (Nash Finch), and finally at Azco Construction, a job he truly enjoyed. Nick also enjoyed deer hunting in Michigan, working in his shop, and his beloved tractors.
Nick is survived by his wife, Rita; sons: Bob (Kris) Mollen and Jim (Julie Wildenberg) Mollen; grandsons: Kevin (Lindsey) Mollen and Kyle (Amber) Mollen; great granddaughter, Veda Mollen, a great grandson due in June and another great grandchild due in October; sister, Kathy Ashauer; brother, Steve (Deb) Mollen; brothers and sisters-in-law: Barb Mollen, Steve (Darlene) Vander Heiden, Cathy (Dave) Van Enkevort, Bernie (Linda) Vander Heiden, Pat (Larry) Schmidt, Jean (Jay) Zahn and Tom (Beth) Vander Heiden; an aunt, Joan Schultz; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Zeta Mollen; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Anna Vander Heiden; siblings: Mike, Mark and Charlotte Mollen; brothers-in-law: Tom Ashauer and Richard (Lois) Vander Heiden.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute. Visitation will continue on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m.
The Mollen family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Val, Stephanie, Leah, Sharon and everyone in the Infusion and Transfusion area of ThedaCare Cancer Center. Also to the nurses, doctors and staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton, for the wonderful care given to Nick during his final days.
