Nancy Le Boeuf Obituary

Nancy Le Boeuf, 77, passed away on June 6, 2021 at Willow Lane Assisted Living Center in Appleton.  She was born on June 13, 1943 at the Penn Hospital in Norway, MI to the late Clyde and Lucille (Perin) Banfield.  Upon graduating from Norway High School, Nancy went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Michigan State University.  She always looked fondly on those years at East Lansing and was a huge Spartans fan.  You’d often hear her talk about the highlights of the latest basketball game with Tom Izzo at the helm.  During the fall, Saturday afternoons were spent watching MSU football games, while Sunday afternoons were devoted to the Packers.  After college, Nancy moved to Appleton where she taught Kindergarten at Columbus Elementary School.  She stayed in contact with some of her students long after she stopped teaching.  Nancy married her husband of nearly 20 years, Anthony “Tony” Zanon, on June 25, 1966 at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Vulcan, MI and the two continued to make the Fox Valley their home.  While raising 3 children and the years that followed, Nancy was heavily involved in the community including St. John’s Parish in Little Chute (especially Soup Suppers and Advent Adventures), Modern Woodmen of America Youth Service Club, 4-H, Homemakers and the Thompson Community Center.  After Anthony passed in 1986, Nancy found love again and married Lionel “Luke” Le Boeuf at St. John’s Catholic Church in Little Chute on August 31, 1990.  In their retirement, Nancy and Luke enjoyed travelling and took pride in the fact that they visited every state in America but three.  Nancy loved the artistic expression she could share through gardening, baking, and arts & craft projects.  Nancy’s greatest satisfaction in her later years was time dedicated to her beautiful grandchildren.  Sleepovers and campfires in the backyard, band concerts at Pierce Park, annual Easter egg hunts, and specially made birthday cakes were just a few of the joys Nancy shared with her grandchildren.

Besides husband Luke, she leaves behind a daughter, Susan Lammers of Appleton; son, David Zanon of Appleton; son, Christopher (Karen) Zanon of Hortonville; stepson, Jim (Maureen) Le Boeuf of Freedom, stepdaughter, Anne Marie (Todd Gonnering) Totzke of Readfield. She also leaves behind several grandchildren including: Julia, Michael, and Anna Lammers, Caroline and Anthony Zanon and Ashley Le Boeuf; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nancy was preceded in death by husband, Anthony Zanon; sister, Gail Zanon; parents, Clyde and Lucille Banfield; parents-in-law, August and Marcella Zanon; son-in-law, Jeffrey Lammers; brother-in-law, Bill Zanon; sister-in-law, Marie Zanon; infant daughter, Jane Zanon; infant brother, George Banfield; infant granddaughter, Bobbie Zanon.
