Nancy Romenesko Obituary

Nancy L. Romenesko, age 85, passed away at home on January 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 23, 1940, daughter of the late Albert and Louise (Raether) Tank. She married Lloyd “Buck” Romenesko on May 29, 1965, at St. Pius Church in Appleton.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend whose life centered around her family. With pride and love, she rarely missed an activity or milestone in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. Nancy took immense pride in her four grandsons who served in the United States Armed Forces, honoring their dedication and service with deep admiration and love.

A longtime member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Nancy lived her faith through service. She was involved in the St. Elizabeth Society and Social Concerns Committee, always willing to give her time, compassion and energy to help others. She was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital for over 25 years.  Nancy also gave selflessly of her time to support local families and youth. She served as a den mother and later as a bus driver, safely transporting teams and groups to events and became a dependable presence to many over the years.

Some of Nancy’s most cherished memories were made with family at the cottage on Pickerel Lake, affectionately known as “Buckhollow”. Those days were filled with laughter, togetherness and traditions that will live on through the stories and love she passed down.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Buck Romenesko; children: Dan (Cori) Romenesko, Jim (Jodi) Romenesko, Rob (Ellen) Romenesko, Paul (Karrie) Romenesko, Kari (Al Adler) Romenesko and Julie (Paul) Hermsen; grandchildren: Nick Romenesko, Caitlin (Ryan) Cotnoir, Tyler Romenesko, Travis (Michelle) Romenesko, Tony Romenesko, Kelly (Rich) Cardoza, Troy Romenesko, Kevin (Gabi) Romenesko, Rick (Victoria) Romenesko, Allison (Ryan) Pieper, Ryan (Katie) Romenesko, Halie (special friend, Will Vanden Heuvel) Hermsen, Aubrie (Ethan) Vander Zanden, Lexie Hermsen and Jaden Hermsen; great grandchildren: Nolan, Cajea, William, Katerina, Ivan, Andrei and Emilia; brothers and sisters-in-law: Steve Callahan, Mike Schwanke, Char (Bill) Janssen, Glenn (Nancy) Romenesko and Dale (Ann) Romenesko; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
