Nancy L. Kurey

Nancy L. Kurey, age 68, of Mackville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday January 10, 2022.

Nancy was born November 10, 1953 in Appleton, daughter of  Celestine "Tom"  and Ione Geurts. She was a graduate of Freedom High School, class of 1972.

Nancy and Bob were united in marriage on June 13, 1975 and had three special sons, whom she loved so very much. She was always looking forward to them coming home weekly when she would make all their favorite meals. She especially loved all holidays where her sense of humor left us always laughing. Nancy enjoyed going to Door County with her mom and sisters each year, leaving us all so many happy memories. She also enjoyed dining with her best friends, Lorrie and Nancy. She was great at her job at Goodwill as a cashier because of her welcoming smile and her love to talk to both coworkers and customers, treating all like family. 

Nancy is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Kurey; three sons: Craig (Kimberly), Kyle (Amanda) and Kody; mother, Ione Geurts; siblings: Debbie (Tom) Murphy, Mary (Mike) Springstroh, Ron (Diane) Geurts and Dave (Lynn) Geurts; in-laws: Sister Annette Kurey and Leonard (Shirley) Kurey; Godmother, Verna Sigl; other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Celestine "Tom" Geurts; father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Elaine Kurey; grandparents and numerous aunts and uncle. 

A private family service will be held at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, Freedom. 

The Kurey family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Nancy’s nurses and doctors at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center Appleton for all of their gracious time spent caring for Nancy.

Nancy, you will always be in our hearts and in our minds until we meet again with all our love. Bob and the boys.
