Mildred "Milly" Sherwood, of Kimberly, age 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on December 17, 2025. She was born on February 7, 1950 to the late Joseph and Geneva (Rentmeester) Daoust.
She graduated from Seymour High School class of 1968. On September 27, 1969 she was united in marriage to Alan P. Sherwood. They spent their first years together in Germany as Butch's army unit was stationed outside of Wurzberg. They eventually settled down in Appleton and later moved to Hortonville, WI. Her hobbies included spending time with her family, especially her grandsons, sewing, reading, and crafting. She was the keeper of the family's records, creating an extensive genealogy history for her extended family. Milly was a member of Red Hats (Mad Hatter group) and the Loominaires, a local knitting group that would knit hats for the Salvation Army and many others.
Milly was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Leitermann and brother, Robert "Bob" Daoust; her parents; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Barbara Tauschek.
She is survived by her spouse Alan "Butch" Sherwood; a daughter, Christina (Josh) Hudson; twin grandsons: John and Joseph Hudson; brother-in-law, Larry (Sally) Sherwood. She has two living siblings: Ruth (Gene) Kobriger and Eugene Daoust; sister-in-law, Grace Daoust; brother-in-law, Jerry Leiterman (special friend Rhonda Bartel); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews, including special god-daughter, Sarah Sickels.
A Funeral Service for Milly will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Peace Family United Methodist Church, 2300 E. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna. Visitation will begin at the church at 11:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of the service. Milly will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
