Michael D. Kahl

Michael Daniel Kahl, age 51, of Kaukauna passed on to his heavenly reward and went home to be with Jesus on Monday, November 7, 2022. Michael was born on March 25th, 1971 to Denny and the late Louis (Dobbs) Thompson in Shawano, WI. 

Michael’s passion and heartbeat was Christian ministry. Having received his minister’s license he worked as a chaplain for the state of Wisconsin. Michael also loved a good laugh. He was a jokester and prankster. With Mike, you never knew when he might prank you. 

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Vicky, and his three children: Hunter Kahl, Aleyah Kahl, and Morgan Kahl. Siblings Robin Smalley, Roxanne (Joe Stodall), Kimberly (Tom) Mains, Michelle (Randall Wollenhaup) Thompson. Mother and Father-in-law Joan and Floyd VanDenEng, Sisters-in-law: Mary-Jo (Kevin) Dempsey, Jill (Steve) Verkuilen, Brother-in-laws Mike VanDenEng and Todd VanDenEng. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also survived by his biological father John Mutter. Preceded in death by his mother, sister - Penny (Kahl) Fergusen, grandparents, uncle - Shorty Dobbs, brother in law - Thomas Smalley, nephew - Nick Mains, niece - Kaitlyn Czaplewski. 

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Apostolic Truth Church, 2720 Kesting Court Appleton. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. at the church. There will be a meal in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
