Melinda "Lynn" (Van Asten) De Valk

Lynn J. De Valk, Little Chute, age 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimers. Lynn was born in Kaukauna, WI on April 14, 1950 to Melvin and Eugenia “Jean” (Bowers) Van Asten. She was a graduate of Kimberly High School, class of 1968. Lynn married the love of her life, James “Jim” De Valk on January 28, 1971 at Holy Name Parish. Jim and Lynn owned and operated Jim & J. De Valk Builders in Little Chute and Thunder Valley Cycles in Oshkosh. Lynn enjoyed gardening, motorcycling with Jim and traveling. She was happiest spending time with her family and friends.

Lynn is survived by her children; Jason (Jill) De Valk, Heather (John) Woelfel, and Michelle (Ryan) Pociask,  grandchildren; Lindsie and Emmy De Valk, Tyler Woelfel, Trenten (Natalie) Woelfel and Gracie Woelfel, Henry, Lillian and Clayton Pociask; great grandchildren; Beckett, Weston, and Reese, siblings; Jennifer (Al) Hatton and Dick (Peggy) Van Asten, her mother-in-law Corrita DeValk, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; David “Charlie” (Carol) De Valk, Sharon (Mike) Evers, Dick (Sheila) De Valk, Cyndi (Brian) Cahill, Mike (Sarah) De Valk, Marj (Steve) Schied, Mark (Rachelle) De Valk, Diane (Tony) Uitenbroek, Don Jr. (Marie) De Valk and Ron “Chip” (Kelly) De Valk, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Lynn was preceded in death by her husband: Jim De Valk, her father and mother: Melvin and Jean (Bowers) Van Asten and her father-in-law: Donald “Don” De Valk.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 9:00am at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute). Mass will be at 11:00am, following the visitation. For online condolences please visit www.verkuilenfh.com. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Ridge Gardens and Moments Hospice who cared for Lynn while she was there. They would also like to thank their family and friends for all of the support they have provided over the years and leading up to her death. We are forever grateful!
