Mary F. De Bruin, age 67, of Appleton, passed away on April 27, 2021. She was born in Kaukauna, WI on November 12, 1953, daughter of Marvin & Jean De Bruin.
Mary graduated from Little Chute High School in 1972. She was employed by The Sheltered Workshop and also Goodwill Industries for many years.
Mary is survived by her 9 brothers and sisters: Ken (Paula) De Bruin, Sue (special friend, Vern) Verkuilen, Karen (Jeff) Lambie, Greg (Jeannie) De Bruin, Bob (Stella) De Bruin, Colleen Peterson, Joe De Bruin, Gary (Kari) De Bruin and Dan De Bruin, Step-Sister, Peggy (David) Kurer, Step-Brothers, Mark (Judi) Biertzer and Tom (Terri) Biertzer and many Nieces and Nephews. Mary’s boyfriend, Dave Bruehl, whom she has treasured for many years. He was always there for Mary. She also has two dear friends – Bill & Judi Maas who have given Mary so much love and friendship. Mary also has her “Volunteer” Carol Valeri who has been with Mary for many years.
Mary brought joy and kindness to all who knew her. Her laugh and smile will be forever remembered.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Jean Biertzer (De Bruin), her Father Marvin De Bruin and her Step-Father Sylvester (Jake) Biertzer, Paternal Grandparents Joseph (Leona)) De Bruin, Maternal Grandparents George (Helen) Young, Sister-In-Law, Wendi De Bruin, Nephew, Eric De Bruin, and her Great Niece Layla Lambie.
Mary’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her doctors, and all the staff at Brewster Village for the wonderful care given to Mary. She has been a resident there for the past 11 years. Mary knew everyone and everyone knew her!! Also, a special thank you to the staff at Theda Care Hospice.
Instead of a funeral service for Mary, we will be having a CELEBRATION OF LIFE at a later date. A memorial fund to Brewster Village Nursing Home is being established in Mary’s name.
