Mary E. Dahl (Voelker)
October 5, 1950 – April 15, 2026
Mary E. Dahl (Voelker), a woman of profound generosity and fierce love, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior on April 15, 2026.
A Life of Service and Heart
Mary spent her life embodying the spirit of a servant’s heart. As a dedicated teacher, she shaped countless young minds, and as a mother and grandmother, she was the bedrock of her family. To Mary, "love" was a verb—she gave of herself tirelessly and was always the first to step forward whenever someone was in need. Her generosity knew no bounds; if you needed a helping hand, Mary was already there.
Simple Joys and Family Traditions
Mary found God’s beauty in the outdoors and the laughter of her loved ones. Her life was defined by:
Summer Days: Enjoying family camping trips and afternoons spent swimming in the pool.
Friendly Competition: She was a formidable opponent at the card table, whether playing a serious game of Sheepshead or a spirited, competitive round of UNO.
Sun and Community: For the last six years, Mary enjoyed life as a "snowbird" in Florida. She thrived in the warm weather, tending to her flowers, participating in American Legion activities, and cheering in her bowling league.
A Devoted Matriarch
Above all, Mary’s greatest pride was her family. She was a constant fixture on the sidelines and in the audience, watching and supporting her grandsons in all their various activities over the years. Her love also extended to her many "four-legged grandchildren," whom she spoiled with affection throughout her life.
Those Who Carry Her Legacy
Mary’s spirit lives on through her children and grandchildren:
Laurie (Kevin) Moseng and grandsons Ayden and Myles.
Eric (Jamie) Dahl and grandson Beau.
She is further survived by her extended family: James (Nancy) Grimm, Marilyn Dahl, and her beloved nieces and nephews. Mary also leaves behind her special loved one, James “Cy” Verstegen, along with Carrie (Doug) Hietpas, Jamie (Kristen) Verstegen, and their children.
Mary’s faith was reflected in the way she cared for others. While she has moved on to a place of eternal warmth and blooming flowers, the impact of her fierce love remains with everyone who knew her.
