Martina Vanden Acker Obituary

Kaukauna – Tina Vanden Acker, 92, formerly of Combined Locks, a beloved wife, mother, Oma, sister, tante and friend to many, died of natural causes peacefully on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Tina was born on May 28, 1928, in Zijtaart, The Netherlands, to the late Adrianus and Francina (Verwegen) Rovers.

Tina married Johannes “Joe” Vanden Acker on October 13, 1953. They resided in Combined Locks for 42 years where they raised their three children. Tina worked 13 years for St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Combined Locks cleaning the rectory and the church. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, bowling, playing cards and visiting with friends. Tina was very proud of her Dutch heritage and sharing this with anyone who wanted to listen.

Tina is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joe, and their three children: Adrian (Toni) Vanden Acker, Francine (Owen) Sonnenberg and Petra (Will) Nolte; five grandchildren: Michelle (JC) Hernandez, Chelsea (deceased), Taylor Vanden Acker, Luke (Melissa) Nolte and Hannah (friend Matt) Nolte; step grandson, Tyler (Jessica) Sonnenberg; great grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Graeme and Emerson; four sisters: Annie Broers, Dori (Joop) Linders, Jeanne Vermetten and Netty Vermetten; in-laws: Ad (Mia) Vanden Acker, Jan (Riek) Vanden Acker, Cisca (Gerrit) Vanden Oever, Miep (Willem) Peters, Jos Theijssen, Annie Vanden Acker and Marietje Vanden Acker; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Tina was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harry (Annie) Rovers; sisters: Antoinette (Albert) Van Beuningen and Joke (Ad) Kremers; brothers-in-law: Tony, Cor (Riek) and Bert Vanden Acker; sisters-in-law: Annie (John) VanderWijst, Mien Theijssen and Truus Vanden Acker; father and mother-in-law, Adrianus (Petronella) Vanden Acker.
