Mark Mc Andrews

Mark Mc Andrews, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2026.

Born on February 15, 1945, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton to the late Harry and Kathryn Mc Andrews, Mark grew up with a strong sense of duty and community. On November 20, 1971, he married Darlene VanDera, sharing many years of life together until her passing on January 12, 2015. On June 22, 2019, Mark celebrated a sacramental ceremony with Ellen Scheibe, and they shared a joyful and committed life together every day.

Mark proudly served his country aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga in the United States Navy. After his service, he committed 30 years to the Kaukauna Police Department, retiring in 1998 at the rank of Sergeant. His dedication to public service extended beyond law enforcement—he served as an Outagamie County Board Supervisor for 24 years and as Town of Buchanan Chairman for 14 years, always striving to improve the lives of those around him.

Emergency management was Mark’s true passion. He worked tirelessly to enhance preparedness and safety in his community, bringing the first emergency generator to Kaukauna City Hall, advocating for early use of mobile phones for emergency communication, and championing the maintenance of the Outagamie County emergency preparedness tornado siren system—ensuring his community was ready in times of need.

Mark is survived by his son, Brian (Kelly) Mc Andrews of West Bend and his cherished grandchildren: Miranda and Cameron Mc Andrews. He will also be greatly missed by Ellen and her extended family. Mark is further survived by his brother, Tom Mc Andrews of Columbia, S.C.; Tom's daughter, Shawn (Ken) Lunsford; and his cousin, Mary Mc Andrews of Milwaukee.

Mark was preceded in death by his wife Darlene; his sister-in-law, Marge Mc Andrews; and his nephew, Christopher Mc Andrews.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home Kaukauna Location, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., officiated by Fr. Luke Ferris. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna.

Mark’s life was one of service, dedication, and love—a life that touched his family, his community, and all who knew him.
