Mark S. De Groot, age 72, of Appleton, WI, passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Hospital on February 21, 2025.
Mark was born on May 25, 1952 to Joanne and Lawrence De Groot, Kimberly, WI.
Mark was always a cup half full kind of guy. He was an avid Packers fan. He loved camping and the outdoors, playing guitar, sitting by a bonfire listening to classic rock and listening to the Beatles Brunch on the radio every Sunday.
He was employed at Appleton Papers, Combined Locks Mill for many years, and did other side jobs to keep busy.
He will be remembered as an amazing father and best friend, and for his sense of humor at the most inappropriate times that would bring light and laughter to every situation.
He is survived by 4 daughters: Tara (Jim) Burkhart, Rachel (David) Osterling, Carrie (Travis) Owen, and Misty De Groot; sister, Kris (Don) Van Roy; 2 brothers: Mike De Groot and Jon De Groot; 6 grandchildren: Maya and Ian Osterling, Kyle Karhu, Andi Arrowood, Nathan Miller, and Kaeson King. He is also survived by his long-time love, Pauline Schierland and her son, Josh Mocarski.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Joanne (Lueck) and Lawrence De Groot; and brother, Larry (Pud) De Groot.
