Mark Coenen, father, brother, and friend passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2025. Mark was born on November 7, 1958 to Marvin and Alice (Weyenberg) Coenen.
Mark was a lifelong fan of science fiction and classic rock. An outdoorsman at heart, he loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Especially spending time on Boulder Lake at Echo Valley Resort with his extended family. In recent years, he found joy in gardening, canning, and cooking. His family will fondly remember his garden-fresh salsa and the authentic Asian and Mexican dishes he loved to make.
In his later years, Mark also enjoyed antiquing and tinkering. Always fixing or reworking something just to see how it worked. Known for his endless supply of bad puns and “dad jokes,” he had a unique way of lightening the mood and getting a smile out of people, whether they wanted to laugh or not.
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Schneider and Alexandra (Scott) Blasczyk, grandchildren, Lucille and Eleanor Schneider, Corbin and Margot Blasczyk, a sister Charlene (Gary) VanGheem, a nephew, Austin VanGheem and friends.
The funeral service for Mark will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek St., Little Chute. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at church. For online condolences please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
