Margaret T. (Muff) McFarland
May 17, 1931 ~ January 20, 2024 (age 92) 92 Years Old
Margaret T. McFarland, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024. She was born to the late Karl and Lina (Schmidt) Muff on May 17, 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Margaret was a very simple and kind woman who spent much of her life caring for others. While she enjoyed the clerical work she did over the years, her true joy came from keeping her home and caring for her family. She was very family oriented and loved spending time with them whether it was attending family gatherings and holidays or going on shopping trips with her daughter and granddaughter. Being able to see her great granddaughter, Maisie, be born and grow was so special to her. She also enjoyed baking and had quite the sweet tooth! Margaret was a woman of strong faith as well and thoroughly enjoyed reading the Daily Word. Even after her sight began to decline, her daughter and granddaughter would read it to her, along with the staff at Little Chute Health Services and her home health aide, Jamie from New York, whom Margaret loved. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her. She will be remembered for her candid and down to earth personality, as well as her occasionally feistiness. She appreciated other people’s humor and friendliness and always enjoyed a good chuckle now and then.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Bonny Castilletti; granddaughter, Marina (Andrew) Templin; great granddaughter, Maisie Templin; nieces and nephews Vicky (Dan) Hancock, Diana (Doug) Ricker, Heidi (Roger Schwing) Bernhard, Gunhilde Graham, Bill (Wanda) Muff, and Geoffrey Muff; great nieces and nephews: Angela (Cliff) Magno and their daughter Paige Isabel, and Jacob Hancock. She is further survived by many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Karl and Lina, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee McFarland; brothers: Karl (Gertrude) Muff, Bill (Dorothy) Muff; nephew-in-law, Jim Graham; and her very dear friend, Rosemarie“Rosie” Caluori
A prayer service for Margaret will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal St., Little Chute. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of the service.
Margaret’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Little Chute Health Services and Moments Hospice for the great care and compassion they provided, as well as the many friends and family who have shown their support throughout this time.
