Lois A. Scharenbroch

Lois A. Scharenbroch, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. She was born on January 2, 1935 to the late Cornelius and Anna (Wimburger) Kersten in Kaukauna, WI.

Lois was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Green Bay where she received her degree in social work and served Manitowoc County for many years. On September 2, 1953 she married the love of her life, Edward Scharenbroch, and together they shared 49 years of marriage until Edward’s passing. Lois was an active member of St. Paul Parish and even taught CCD there for many years. Being a grandma to her three grandchildren was one of her greatest joys in life. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her faith, and her friends.

Lois is survived by her three children: Greg (Ellen) Scharenbroch, Chris Scharenbroch, and Linda Gullickson; her grandchildren: Rebecca, Nick, and Catherine; and her siblings: Margaret Collins and James (Dolores) Kersten. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward; her son, David; and her siblings: Henry (Melva) Kersten, Eugene (Mary) Kersten, Richard (Rita) Kersten, Paul (Rosemary) Kersten, Marion (Joseph) Van Cuyk, Helen Baier, Wilma Kersten, Wilbert (Germaine) Kersten, Francis Kersten, John Kersten, and Elaine Peotter.

A funeral service for Lois will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at St. Paul Parish (410 Wallace St., Combined Locks) at 11 am. Family and friends may gather beginning at 9 am until the time of service.
