Lloyd G. Schuessler

June 17, 1938 ~ March 28, 2022 (age 83)


Lloyd G. Schuessler, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 28, 2022. He was born on June 17, 1938. In 1963, he married the love of his life, Lois. They shared nearly 59 years together while raising their family and farming. Lloyd was a faithful Catholic and a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish (St. Francis site) where he was a member of the St. Francis Men’s Choir for many years. He was a 25-year member of the Hollandtown Volunteer Fire Department. Lloyd served on the board of directors of the Outagamie County Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA), Outagamie County Holstein Breeders Association, and Progressive Farmers Co-op. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Calumet County Aging & Disability Office until recently. Lloyd loved farming, the outdoors, planting trees, and feeding the birds, especially bluebirds. He and Lois logged many miles on their bikes each year, riding side-by-side and exploring together. Lloyd’s faith and family were of utmost importance to him.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Lois (Van Asten) Schuessler; his children: Lee Ann (Jeffrey) LeDuc of Appleton, Robert (Audra) Schuessler of Kaukauna, Richard (Connie) Schuessler of Antigo, and Karla (Tim) Dorweiler of Farmington Hills, Michigan; his grandchildren: Melissa LeDuc Taylor, Robert LeDuc, Hannah LeDuc, Liz Schuessler, Erin (Bill) Akoo, John Schuessler, Jack Schuessler, Samantha Schuessler, Gus Schuessler, Grace Schuessler, Kaleb Dorweiler, and Owen Dorweiler; his great-grandchildren: Vera and Naomi Taylor; surviving in-laws and spouses: Lucille Schuessler, Merlin Van Asten, Marvin (Mary) Van Asten, Carl (Sharon) Van Asten, Lyle Van Asten, and Jack (Pauline) Van Asten. Lloyd is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Marie Schuessler; parents-in-law, Martin and Josephine Van Asten; sister, Mary (Jerry) Van Asten; brother, Ralph Schuessler; sister-in-law, Delores Mischler; brother-in-law, Wayne Van Asten; and sister-in-law, Janice Van Asten.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Katharine Drexel-St. Mary’s site (119 W 7th Street, Kaukauna) until the time of the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Francis Cemetery. For online condolences, please visit
