Lloyd A. Hermsen, age 86, passed away surrounded by his family on September 7, 2023. He was born on February 12, 1937, son of the late George and Rose (Coenen) Hermsen. Lloyd married Marlene Leitermann on June 6, 1959.
Lloyd was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed farming and welding and had his own welding shop since he was 13 years old. Lloyd had donkeys and mules for years at his beloved “Ass Acres” in Darboy. He traveled all over and attended many auctions and steam engine shows.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marlene; children: Donna (Russ) Hebbe, Nancy (Matt) Meyer and Mark (Kim) Hermsen; grandchildren: Jenni Hebbe, Mike (Amber) Hebbe, James (special friend, Tawny) Anderson, Jason (fiancé, Brenda) Anderson, Amanda (fiancé, Kurt) Doering, Brandon, Mason and Eyon Hermsen; great grandchildren: Remington, Sawyer, Sierra, Logan, Matthew and Dustin; sisters: Ellie Behling, Grace Schmidt and Millie Wippich; in-laws: Jim (Phylis) Leitermann and Jerry (special friend, Rhonda) Leitermann; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, George and Rose Hermsen; siblings: Helen (Joe) Vande Voort, Clara (Emmet) Newhouse, Joe (Lillian) Hermsen, Lorraine (Leo) Hooyman, Cecelia Hermsen, Marian Hermsen and Raymond Hermsen; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ed Behling, Ralph Schmidt, Larry Wippich, Darlene (Lloyd) Gunther and Helen Leitermann; father and mother-in-law: Herbert and Martha Leitermann.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Holy Spirit Parish-Holy Angels Church, W2806 County Rd KK, Darboy.
