Linda Diedrick Obituary

Linda Diedrick, age 71, of Freedom, went to her heavenly home on Friday, December 31, 2021 surrounded by family, after a courageous two year battle with cancer.  She was greeted by her Dad, sister and brother.

Linda was the firstborn child of Ernest and Dolores Diedrick born on August 2nd, 1950.  She attended St. Nicholas grade school and graduated from Freedom High School.  She got two “Perfect Attendance” certificates for not missing a single day while in middle school and high school.  As a teenager, she worked at Fox Valley Golf Course.   After high school she was employed at White Clover Dairy in Hollandtown for 20 years and then at Resource 1.   She enjoyed the many simple things in life, such as going to Rico’s for Friday night’s fish or Sunday’s breakfast.  Linda loved being an aunt and great aunt, especially during the holidays when the nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews would come for a visit.  Linda had a fantastic memory and could recall names of actors/actresses and the character roles they played in her favorite TV shows from her childhood.  She could tell you about the venues from her cousin’s weddings, the color of bridesmaid’s dresses and what was served for dinner.   She also could recall the names of past weather meteorologists from Channel 2 and the dates of miscellaneous storms and other occurrences.

While at St. Paul, Linda loved being pampered by the staff.  She enjoyed many activities with her friend, Ann, and having her nails done weekly.  Linda’s strong faith led her to attend daily Mass celebrated in the chapel at St. Paul’s Elder Services.  She was a lifelong member at St. Nicholas in Freedom.

Linda was an avid Packer fan.  One of her most enjoyable moments was the surprise Legendary and Hall of Fame Tour at Lambeau that she attended with her family in August.  She was excited to be able to go through the player’s tunnel and out onto the area surrounding the field and yelling “GO! PACK! GO!”

Linda is survived by her mother, Dolores Diedrick, her brother and his wife, Bruce and (Elaine) Diedrick, her sister and her husband, Patty and (Andy) Granberg, and a sister, Donna Diedrick.  She is further survived by her nephew and nieces and their families, Jeff and Amy Diedrick, (Connor and Payton), Christy and Jason Presteen, (Abby, Cally and Blake), and Amanda and Jay Springstroh (Mason, Alaina and Brody).  She is also survived by an Uncle, an Aunt and numerous cousins.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Diedrick, a sister, Lois, and a brother, William.  She was further preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Peter & Lucy Diedrick and her maternal grandparents, William and Bertha Hoelzel, along with other uncles, aunts and cousins.
