Lillian B. Tennessen Obituary

Lillian B. Tennessen, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on May 12, 2026.  She was born on November 23, 1931, daughter of the late Peter and Minnie (Hermsen) Vosters.  Lillian was married to Byron Meulemans and he preceded her in death in 1958.  She then married Robert Tennessen on February 11, 1961.


Faith was extremely important to Lillian.  She was a long-time member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute.  Bob and her made trips to Robinsonville to visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion.  Lillian was a member of the St. Elizabeth Society and enjoyed playing cards, bowling, dancing, cooking, baking, traveling and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.  She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her family as often as possible.


Lillian is survived by her loving husband, Bob Tennessen; her children: James (Jen) Meulemans, Debra Denis, Jeff Tennessen and Lynn (Chuck) Hietpas; her grandchildren: Christian Meulemans, Justin (Patricia) Meulemans, Catania (Kevin) Zimmerman, Alexandria (Stephen) Yarley; Joshiah Meulemans, Justis Meulemans, Jedidah Meulemans, Jeniyah Meulemans, Elijah Meulemans, Joshua (Ashley) Denis, Abby (Seth) Block, Kara (Jeffery) Brice, Tyler (Jess) Tennessen, Eric Tennessen, Anthony (Kayla) Hietpas, Rachyl (Robby Oakley) Hietpas ; great grandchildren: Braden Meulemans, Issac Meulemans, Kinley Zimmerman, Kyla Zimmerman, Callie Zimmerman, William Yarley, Jesua Yarley, Leticia Yarley, Charlotte Denis, Parker Denis, Harrison Block, Clayton Block, Ada Block, Griffen Brice, Lilia Brice, Amelia Brice, Mckenna Tennessen, Conner Tennessen, Charlee Tennessen Gavin Hietpas, Zander Hietpas; a step great-grandson, Liam Van Toll; a sister, Joanie (Jerry) Ambrosius; brothers and sisters-in-law: Reverand Carl Meulemans, Roger(Delores) Meulemans, Darrel Meulemans, June(John) Reiter; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.


Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Minnie Vosters; her first husband, Byron Meulemans; a son, Dave Meulemans; a grand-daughter, Haylee Tennessen; siblings: Jerome Vosters, Richard(Ruth) Vosters, Urban Vosters, Evelyn Vosters, Rita Vosters, Urban Vosters, Margaret Vosters, Dorothy Vosters, Ursula (Edward) Welhouse (Ardene Geurts), Gordon Vosters, Urban Vosters, and Delores (Roger) Riemer; Byron’s parents, Bernard and Margie Meulemans; Bob’s parents, Tony and Martha Tennessen; brothers and sisters-in law: Arthur(Iiene) Tennessen, James(Gladys) Tennessen, Noella Meulemans, Curtis Meulemans and Belva Meulemans.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek St, Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute.
