Lewis J. Fuhrmann

Lewis J. Fuhrmann, age 90 of Kaukauna, passed away on October 15, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.  He was born in Milwaukee on April 13, 1931, son of the late John and Ceilia (Mischler) Fuhrmann and moved to Kaukauna in 1938. He attended St Mary’s Catholic School in Kaukauna and graduated from Kaukauna high School in 1949. On April 14, 1956 he married Norma J. Kieffer whom he loved until she passed in March of 2021. Lewis was a dairy farmer all his life.  He took over the family farm from his father after High School and attended classes at FVTC.  He belonged to the Hollandtown Fire Department for 40 years. He ushered and attended Bible Study at St. Katherine Drexel church and volunteered at Loaves and Fishes.  Lewis loved to farm and always looked forward to deer hunting every fall.  He always had woodworking projects going on and especially had an interest in building bird houses and feeders.  He enjoyed traveling with Norma to visit friends and family every year.  Lewis always had a kind heart, a great smile, and he always had a joke or story to tell of his younger days.

He was preceded in death by his wife Norma (Kieffer) Fuhrmann, his parents, John & Cecelia (Mischler) Fuhrmann and his mother and father-in-law, Martin and Regina Kieffer. 

He is survived by his four sons: David (Christine) Fuhrmann of Harrison, Don (Jane) Fuhrmann of Kaukauna, Robert (Linda) Fuhrmann of Brillion, and John Fuhrmann of Kaukauna.  His grandchildren: McKendra Fuhrmann, Michael Fuhrmann, Nathan (Dana) Fuhrmann, Julianne (Paul) Oswald, Stephen (Emily) Fuhrmann, Angela (Brock) Barrington, Jennifer (Joe) Zirbel, Dan (Kalie) Fuhrmann, Nicole Reeb, and Eric (fiancée Jamie Brochtrup) Fuhrmann. The great-grandchildren are James, Mallory, Willow, Paige, Alexandria, Hunter, Elliana, Sophia, Mason, Connor, Brooklyn, Kambriah, and Ezra.  Lewis is also survived by his brother-in Law: Ronald (Barb) Kieffer. 

The funeral liturgy for Lewis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at St. Katharine Drexel Parish – St. Mary Church, located at 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. David McElroy, O. Proem. officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
