Lee Alan Hanagan, age 63, passed away unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident alongside his beloved wife, Roni. He was born on January 12, 1962, son of Clifford and Lois (Smith) Hanagan. Married on July 21, 1989, Lee and Roni shared 35 beautiful years together filled with love, laughter, and a shared passion for life on the road. Their bond was unbreakable, and they truly found joy in every mile they spent together on their Harley.
Lee had just retired this past June after an incredible 44-year career at BelGioioso Cheese, where his hard work and dedication left a lasting impression. His retirement marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with travel, golf, yardwork and cherished time with his family — a chapter that, while cut short, was filled with meaning.
An avid golfer, Lee looked forward to Sunday rounds with Jay and Kurt, and many others over the years. His love for the game was only rivaled by his love for the Green Bay Packers and his legendary naps.
Lee was a devoted “Papa” who delighted in spoiling his grandchildren. His eyes lit up around them, and he made it his mission to fill their lives with joy, laughter, and love. His home was always a place of warmth, especially on Friday nights when he and Roni hosted driveway fires with neighbors and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Lee leaves behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, and deep devotion to his family. Though he is gone too soon, his spirit will continue to ride on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Lee is survived by his children: Jarod (Britt) Hanagan and Jodi (Ryan) Gardner; beloved grandchildren: Devyn and Beau Gardner and Baby Boy Hanagan on the way; mother-in-law, June Biechler; siblings: Carrie Koeller (Rick) and Jay (Trina) Hanagan; in-laws: Monica Hanagan (Jim), Jim Stolla, Tina Hanagan, Cathy (Pete) Bootz and Tami Biechler; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lois Hanagan; father-in-law, Ronald Biechler; siblings; Guy Hanagan, Debbie Stolla and Cal Hanagan; and a niece, Kelsey Hanagan.
A celebration of life for Lee and Roni will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 124 W. 10th Street, Kaukauna. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the service will take place at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for Lee and Roni.
