Leanne Springstroh

Leanne Springstroh, 65, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024, surrounded by an aura of intense love and sorrow, after a valiant fight against cancer. Leanne was born July 22, 1958 to Erle and Darlene (Eiting) Deering, and graduated from Wrightstown High School in 1976. Leanne’s first marriage presented her with her most cherished gift, her daughter Amy, and in 2004, Leanne married Glenn Springstroh. They would have celebrated 20 years of marriage on June 24th. Leanne’s personality filled a room! She had an amazing sense of humor and zest for life, matched only by her generous heart and dedication to hard work and foster animals everywhere. If there was an animal in need, Leanne was leading the charge. Her quick wit was legendary, and you knew intense spurts of laughter were eminent if you had the good fortune to spend a couple of hours chatting with her. She was an intelligent, bright and fun part of her family. She was someone who enjoyed the simple things in life, like volleyball, a cold beer, and movie night with the grandkids. It has been devastating to watch her bright light slowly flicker and go out due to the ravages of cancer. She fought with all she had and never gave up, and we are heartbroken to have to say good bye after all the effort she put in. The tears come like a waterfall of agony, as we sadly concede she needed to go. What’s left is a void that can never be filled, we feel empty.

Leanne is survived by her husband, Glenn; daughter, Amy (Nicholas) Schmit, and her 2 granddaughters: Alaina and Adria. She is further survived by her siblings and in-laws: Dennis Deering, Denise Knott, Neil and Laurie (Arnoldussen) Deering, Glenn’s family and in-laws: Ellen and Dennis Forbeck, Terry Nechodom, Donna and Mike Day, Paul and Tracy Springstroh, Chuck Springstroh, JoAnn and Larry Cornelius, Sherrie and Dan Strong.

Leanne was preceded in death by her parents, Erle and Darlene Deering; her in-laws, Earl and Elaine Springstroh; sisters-in-law, Mary Kay Nechodom and Joann Springstroh; brothers-in-law: Mark Springstroh and Steve Knott.

Memorial services for Leanne will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home Freedom Location, N3972 Columbia Ave., Freedom. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
