Lambert James "Jim" Spierings

Lambert James “Jim” Spierings, 95, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025.  Jim was born on June 10, 1930 to John and Georgiana (De Leest) Spierings in Michigan and was a lifetime member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.  Jim was married to Theresa (Vosters) Vanden Heuvel in 1955 at St. John Nepomucene and they were married for 66 years until she passed away in 2022. He was a veteran having served in the US Marine Corps.   He worked at Thilmany for over 40 years and after retiring he worked for Building Services for nearly 20 years.  Later Jim also worked with his sons Ron and Bob helping with their businesses.  He enjoyed polka dancing, playing cards and casino trips.  Most of all he liked spending time with his family and the vacation trips up north with them.

Jim is survived by his children: Marge (significant other, Mark Dzendzera) Vanden Heuvel Hendricks, Randy (Carol) Spierings, Kay (Jack) Van Lanen, Carrie (Bill) Crowley, Ron (Maggie) Spierings and Bob (Tammi) Spierings; grandchildren: Brian (Cathy) Hendricks, Jessica Hendricks, James (Lindy) Spierings, Mary Katherine (Andrew) Thompson, Brett (Laura) Van Lanen, Mike Van Lanen, Sam Van Lanen, Daniel (Colleen) Gitlin, Nick Gitlin, Jason Gitlin, Matt Spierings and Elizabeth Spierings; 10 great grandchildren; sisters: Marge Holcomb and Betty Hietpas; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law Jerry Hendricks; and siblings: Dorothy (Jerry) Rohan, Marian (Norb) Vosters, Helen (Norbert) Le Noble, Evelyn (John) Welhouse, Donna (Jim) Maldwin and John (Evelyn) Spierings; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Martin and Anna Vosters; and brothers-in-law: Ves (Jane) Vosters, Andrew (Calixta) Vosters, Norbert (Marion) Vosters, Bill (Eunice) Vosters, Ernest (Jen) Vosters, Gilbert (Isabelle) Vosters, Art (Eunice) Vosters, Simon (Arlene) Vosters, Jerry Holcomb, Fred Keugel, Tony Hietpas and Clem Cooney; sisters-in-law: Liz (Norb) Becker and Agnes (Gordon) VandeHey.

The funeral mass for Jim will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene, 411 Vandenbroek St., Little Chute.  A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
