Kevin J. LaCroix

Kevin J. LaCroix, age 68, of Freedom passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 12, 1954 in Richfield, MN, son of the late Harold LaCroix and Vivian “Audrey” Draeger (Lehr). He married Joan  Jagla on April 9,1988, and the marriage was blessed with two daughters, Katie and Lauren.

Kevin spent years working in the paper industry before his illness gave him the opportunity to fulfill what he said was his most gratifying role as a stay-at-home dad.  The silver lining, in addition to being able to raise his girls, was he was able to enjoy his favorite hobbies of building his model railroad, reading, boating, and sports cars.  He had many interests throughout his life. His interest in airplanes at a young age led him to getting his pilot's license.  In his later years, he enjoyed spending time woodworking and working on cars with his good friend Brian.  Ultimately, his joy in life was his family and spending as much time as possible with them.     

Kevin is survived by his wife, Joan; daughters: Katie (Sean), Pewaukee, Lauren (Jacob), Kaukauna; grandson Cal; sister: Susan (Louis) Kerns, Shorewood, WI; siblings in law: David (Diane) Jagla, New London, Mark (Linda) Jagla, White Lake, WI, Jill (Mike) Herberg, Appleton; Joe (Jill) Jagla, Antigo, Jean (Dale) Miller, Woodstock, IL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gregg LaCroix; Parents-in-law: Lawrence and Doris Jagla; and nephew, Geoff Johnson.

Funeral Mass for Kevin will be held on Wednesday May 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Parish (W2037 County Rd. S, Freedom). Friends will be greeted at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
